Melbourne Airport

The vibrant city of Melbourne is home to a busy and well-used airport that is the main gateway to this part of Australia and its attractions. Melbourne Airport welcomes millions of international and domestic flights every year and is located in the suburb of Tullamarine.

The business car park can be found a 50-metre walk from the terminal precinct. Next to T3 and T4 is the Melbourne Airport Express car park and directly opposite all four terminals are multi-level long-term and short-term car parks. Lastly, another long-term car park is located 400m south of the terminals and transfers from here take around five minutes on a free shuttle bus.

When incoming arrivals land at Melbourne Airport they can expect to go through passport control with their completed incoming passenger card that will have been given to them during their flight. After successfully going through immigration, new arrivals will collect their bags and continue their journey to their city accommodation or pick up car rental from one of the many agencies at the airport.

There are three main hotels located close to the airport; the Hilton, the Holiday Inn and the Hotel Formula 1. All three offer well-priced rooms and great facilities that are perfect for an overnight stay to get over the first grips of jetlag.

For international departures, Melbourne Airport recommends that flyers should arrive at the air hub at least three hours before their departure time or just one hour prior to domestic flight departures.

There is plenty of opportunity for duty-free shopping in any one of the many shops and stores or you can grab a bite to eat in a sit-down restaurant or a fast food joint. In true Australian style there are a few bars on-site at the airport to enjoy a cold pint or two before travelling and the cafés here are ideal for a light snack and cup of hot coffee.

A bus service known as the SkyBus is available for transfers from the airport to the centre of Melbourne, with services running every 10 minutes, 24-hours, 365 days a year. Visitors can get tickets for the SkyBus upon arrival at the air hub or online prior to landing.
